GWO Refresher Training Package – Onshore

GWO Refresher Training Package – Onshore Course Overview

The GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) Package – Onshore Focus – has been developed to encompass the four main refresher training modules required for working within the renewables sector on a purely onshore basis.

Course content:

This GWO approved course (Global Wind Organisation – the Renewables Industry standard), contains the following four elements:

GWO Working at Height Training

The aim of this Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) Working at Heights Module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training so that Delegates can use basic personal protective equipment and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights in the wind turbine industry / WTG environment.

GWO Manual Handling Training

The aim of the GWO Manual Handling Refresher Training is to encourage positive manual handling behaviour and train delegate’s ability to perform manual handling tasks in a safe manner in the wind turbine industry/environment.

GWO Fire Awareness Training

Delivery of the GWO Fire Awareness Refresher Training module covers same content, duration, learning objectives as described in the GWO Basic Fire Awareness Safety Training module.
The aim of this course is to give the delegates the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent fires, conduct initial and appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel to ensure all are safely evacuated and accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire and, if it is judged to be safe, to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic handheld firefighting equipment.

GWO Basic First Aid Training

The aim of the GWO First Aid Refresher Training module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from the GWO Basic First Aid Training module through theoretical and practical training so that delegates can administer safe and effective first aid in the wind industry in accordance with GWO BST/BSTR First Aid training.
