FOET stands for Further Offshore Emergency Training, and is often referred to by many delegates as a ‘BOSIET Refresher’.
The aim of the NOIAA approved FOET training course with EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System) is to allow delegates to practice and establish emergency response skills that are not possible to replicate during drills, exercises and offshore training that take place in the work environment.
This particular NOIAA standard course has been developed specifically to meet Aviation Regulation requirements in the UK / North Sea.
Here’s a list of the skills and knowledge that should be attained during this FOET course:
1- Demonstrate in a simulated environment that you can follow procedures and use the safety equipment required in preparing for and executing during helicopter evacuations and escapes following ditching.
2- Demonstrate the effective use of basic firefighting equipment.
3- Use self-rescue techniques in smoke-filled areas and other reduced visibility situations.
4- Gain an understanding of basic first aid.
A valid and unrestricted medical fitness certificate to work at sea may be produced on the day of the training.
